We bought regular 4th grade sizes. My 7 year old son is 4'7" 84 lbs - he's heavy and tall for his age but still athletic (not bulky). His regular size 10 shorts looked tight. He struggled to get them up and down and there wasn't much room in the seat but the length was perfect.We tried the regular 12 but they are too long they just don't look good.Decided to buy 10 huskies very glad that we did this they are perfect 10 regular and 10 husky the same length (perfect for us) but the husky gave it about 2 inches or so more in stretch around the waist as well as a lot more room in the seating area. He can sit and recline, easily tie his shoes. Husky looks great too. If you examine common and husky sizes, you'll see that each size increases significantly in length. Keep this in mind when choosing between regular/husky/sizes. Hope this helps some of you with sizing!
