This worked on my old Dyson vacuum. It was a bear to install, but once you know to screw it in rather than press it down you should be fine. If you look at the holes this item goes in, you'll also see guides. Insert one side making sure both sides are in the gusset and rotate the piece into place. Takes about 3 minutes. The release doesn't have as much "springtime" as I expected, but my vacuum got it working again, which makes a difference. I think the money I saved by replacing the vacuum cleaner or taking it to a workshop was worth it.
