I received this item a week ago and have tested different bracket sizes. First of all, the design of this holder is excellent. Very strong, non-slip rubber feet that hold the frame are very important to me. I'm a percussionist and attached this frame to my drum set pad to hold my Korg synth pad, it held it very securely and didn't fall or slip. I was able to mount it on a pedestal stand to hold my iPad securely, no problems. The only thing is that the mounting screws are long and I use two wrenches. There is one in the kit, it's a bit flimsy, I used mine. Another problem: If the mounting bar is 1.5 inches or larger, it will be difficult to install. Works very well on both square and round strips with no problem if its thickness is less than 1.25 inches. My wife uses this on our stationary bike to watch videos and movies while exercising. I recommend this if you are in the market!
