I had serious problems with green algae. This was after a serious problem with algae on the walls. I attached the seaweed to the wall with catfish, but there was so much debris that there was a huge seaweed bloom. I turned off the lights, turned off the food and increased the frequency of water changes and also tried adding a polishing pad to the filter. It was getting worse and worse. That's why I bought this thing. Did a 50% water change. I took out my carbon filter and put 4 drops in the filter (for a 10 gallon tank). Green water algae improved significantly after about 2 hours (halved?). I then added a polishing pad and by 3pm the water was crystal clear. Did not affect a small amount of wall algae or a few small pieces of thread algae. I also have marimo balls that are still fine. I have fish that eat algae (Pleco, Guppies, Endler) so I'm concerned they will be affected. So I severely underdosed and added the charcoal back in as soon as possible after it wore off. Let's see how much maintenance is required. But if the algae reappear, I'll start with 2 drops per 10 gallons.
