It really is like a magic eraser. Our toilets had very unsightly colored stripes and rings in the bowls - probably due to very hard water. We've tried vinegar, baking soda, ammonia, bleach, and a variety of specialty cleaners like Iron Out. Nothing worked and I was willing to pay a thousand dollars to a plumber to replace them all. Then I saw a YouTube video about using pumice stone to clean toilets, so I bought this inexpensive version of Revain (comes with six "stones") to give us a try. They proved to be very porous and lightweight, and it only took about half a 'brick' to have our 3 toilets sparkling like new (no exaggeration!). Be sure to dampen the surface of the stone and porcelain before cleaning. It's slow at first because the edges of the stone are sharp and the surfaces of the bowl are curved, but as soon as it starts to wear off a bit, the magic begins. It takes a little effort, time, and half a dozen flushes per toilet, but the results are outstanding. I was a bit worried at first because it seemed like the stone might scratch the porcelain (you will hear a scratching sound and feel), but as long as you keep wetting the stone (dip the used end in eau de toilette) when cleaning the porcelain must not be damaged. Due to the angle of the porcelain in relation to the shape of the stone, it's still difficult to clean the inside corner under the rim, but I find working with a smaller piece of stone works better. Also, don't use the stone to clean the seats or other plastic parts - the stone is denser so it will scratch and ruin those surfaces. Who would have thought that spotless toilets could make a person so happy.
