Review on 🎙️ OM Digital Solutions DP-201 Digital Voice Recorder: Enhanced Recording Experience for Professionals by Mike Travers

Given the price, I only have one gripe about this recorder: deleting files you no longer need is a ROYAL PAIN. I use it to record college lectures several days a week. This is great because you can date your paper notes and then just find the file for that date on the recorder when you want to listen to the lecture again. It's not a problem and it's great for the final exam. The problem occurs when the semester is over and you want or need to clear the recorder to prepare for the next semester. I checked the manufacturer's manual and FAQ page and there is no option to wipe all memory at once. You can choose to just delete file by file or all files for a specific date. This is DATE, not dateS. If you recorded multiple lessons multiple days a week for an entire semester, that's a heck of a lot of files! Not only that, but the number of steps you have to take to delete just one file or files in a day is ridiculous -- five keystrokes at least, spread across three different keys, and trust me when I say, that it is not at all an intuitive process. Only one of the buttons says "Delete"; The other two buttons used are the Play/OK button and the Rewind button. Yes, the rewind button! Makes no sense to me. Maybe it's some kind of crash protection to keep people from accidentally deleting files, but I find it ridiculously boring. There should be an option to delete all files on the device. Even if the function of deleting all records required five button presses, it would be much better than the system of deleting one by one, as is the case now. Otherwise I am very satisfied with this recorder. I'm with him in his fifth semester of college and he's still working.
