I bought a 1st generation SE to replace it, after more than 1.5 years of very active use, the battery degraded and stopped even holding daylight hours. You can change it unofficially, but judging by the video, the opening procedure is quite barbaric and no one will guarantee that the watch will work normally after that. There is no sense of novelty from SE2, it's the same. The color is slightly different, the processor is different - S8 as in the latest generation. It is claimed to be 20% faster than the S5 from the first generation SE watch. In fact, I didn’t notice any difference, the previous one also worked smoothly and quickly, and how can I check it in a watch where there really aren’t any demanding applications? Most likely this is a marketing ploy. The set of sensors is the same, it is stated that the heart rate monitor has been ated, but I did not see the difference. The device has only the most necessary: receive notifications, give the opportunity to answer a call and a message, track activity and training, and are waterproof. The rest of the whistles, as in the more expensive Series 7/8 watches, are not needed, all sorts of built-in cardiographs and oxygen sensors in the blood are nonsense for 1 time to indulge and forget. The display is 1 mm smaller than in older models for me does not play a role. There is no permanently on display here, and it is not necessary, since they quickly sit down without it. In general, SE is the best option for iPhone owners without extra overpayments. If you need more autonomy - look towards fitness bracelets, there is none here, Apple Watch works up to a day in moderate mode. With active use, they may die earlier.
