As a previous reviewer noted, these frames have a very strong, unpleasant smell. I usually disregard odor complaints as they seem to crop up about almost every product, but in this case the smell was indeed so strong that after I went to the trouble of putting my photos in, I took them back out and threw the frames away rather than spend more time reassembling them to ship back. The smell seemed like formaldehyde, though I'm not sure; and it seemed to permeate the wood and/or paint as well as the MF backing. I gave it two stars for the nice colors and overall functionality, but I also didn't like the dry, unpleasant feel of the painted surface or the way the three frames aligned (other reviews address this in detail), even though they do work as described. I rarely return a product or write a review, but I thought it was worth seconding the previous reviewer's note about the smell.
