The appearance of this mask is similar to pale guacamole, with a bit of grit for exfoliation. I tend to love anything that smells like tea, and this is no disappointment. It goes on smoothly, so that you don't need to use too much. I noticed a burning feeling soon after application, presumably from the menthol, which made me nervous. The feeling did subside, and I didn't see any signs of irritation. I typically do not have sensitive skin. Directions on the Body Shop website say to leave on for 5-10 minutes and use 2-3 times per week. I left on for 5 minutes the first time, and for a little over 10 minutes a couple of days later. While I didn't notice immediate, dramatic results, I really do think my skin has looked its best - fresh, even, exfoliated - since using the mask.
