Both of our cats love cardboard scratching posts so this seemed like an easy task. First, it's a lot smaller than I expected. Not that it has to be huge, but I just expected the scraper to be longer. Our adult boys barely fit. The jingle balloon part is cute, but none of our adult cats care. The feather stick caught their attention for a while, but then they ignored it. The scratch part is not very big at all. It comes with a small bag of catnip. It's finely ground, like the consistency of baby powder. I sprinkled some on the scratch area to try to interest her. Maybe the catnip is just very, very old, but they both just made them sneeze, which our catnip never did. Overall, I think this item caters to playful kitties in terms of both size and play items. Our two adult cats have not returned since we pointed out that 'new things to explore'.
