plastic tear easily. Doesn't look like 4 gallons; can fit in a very small trash can, but definitely not in a regular bathroom or office bin. NOT a suitable substitute for grocery bags. The small size and flimsy plastic make it difficult to tie. You must leave the bag half empty to tie it shut so the bag is only good for a very small amount of waste. Don't "waste" your time with this product.
