Review on Emergency Radio NOAA Flashlight Household Hurricane by Sandro Pierce

The EMI from the battery level of the LEDs completely ruins the AM playback!

The design works well for FM/NOAA reception where it falls short on AM/MW. I believe the EMI caused by the battery level LEDs causes too much interference to be able to use AM without being annoying noise that keeps dropping not a usable noise, other functions work fine, the item arrived without the screw that required is to prevent the battery cover from slipping off. The COB does not appear to be as bright as other models that include a COB LED on the end of the device. It looks like the COB has too many quenching resistors preventing it from reaching full brightness (more white than yellow) and this has nothing to do with battery level either. Spend a little more on an AOMAIS model, the COB end won't disappoint and there is minimal EMI on AM so weak stations are usually audible but like everything it depends on the sample you get, mine first AOMAIS models were impeccable in AM specs , latter one is not as good but still better than this one, I bought green model from foreign seller for about the same price, I'm glad I didn't spend too much have since its cost prohibits returning it to where it came from (lots of overlapping labels).
