Edit a week later: Just a note about clumping. It's very tight. So tight that when your cat looks from the side, it sticks to the inside like glue. A simple remedy is to spray a clean box with Pam or something similar. The lump will slide off whole and very easily. It won't harm your cat. If you're having trouble getting the stuffing out of the box because your front is lower than the back, turn the box over. I had to do it. Cats are used to digging in one direction and now it stays in the box. I confess I was skeptical. I have been using Fresh Step for several years. I think they changed the formula since it started sticking to my trays. I switched to Crystal and found I was swapping out the whole box about every 4 days. Then I was looking for something else and came across this litter. The price put me off a bit, but if it does what it says on the tin, I would have saved money in the end. The first thing I noticed was the smell when I opened the bag. It wasn't uncomfortable, just different. Then I saw that the litter was the consistency of fine sand. I measured the recommended level for one of the boxes. The next day I could not detect any odor in the room where the boxes are. When I shoveled out the poo for the first time in a very long time, my cats buried it. As advertised, the filler is compact and firmly absorbs urine. . That really sold me. Small parts do not fall back into the box. At the moment I see no point in throwing this garbage away. The box stays nice and clean. Of course, I will occasionally clean the boxes myself. I am very happy with this purchase.
