Application: Surge protector for terrestrial TV antenna. (I have 120ft of coax running from my 24ft antenna tower to my house entry point (see tower picture)) DC Passthrough Compatible for Winegard LNA Boost XT HDTV Preamp: I haven't experienced any noticeable signal loss. I know this because I measured the signal strength before and after installation. Quality: incredibly well built; It's heavy, durable and very well made. This is really a quality product. Why I like this product: I like the gas fuse which should blow if excess current flows through the coaxial cable from my antenna. The fuse is easy to replace. I bought two spare fuses as spares. We have had two large tree blows on our property in the last 15 years (destroying these old trees) and our antenna mast is less than 50 feet from the blow. This surge protector gives me the confidence to protect my gear. If I get a near or direct lightning strike that blows a fuse in the future, I'll post an updated post and share my findings. One small issue: the ground terminal clip will not fit the #6 copper ground wire without a small modification. I had to widen the hole to attach it to the wire. If you use #8 wire it should work. It is also possible to use a suitably sized connector for wire no. 6 to purchase. This little issue is not a reason for me to downgrade.
