This little level is as good as any professional level I've used with one or two exceptions. The main difference (construction aside; you can't expect a high performance industrial product at this price point) is that the bar is a bit brighter during the day, I had to lower the blinds on a few windows and 50ft. the beam is not always that long. With that in mind, this would be ideal for the average home user. Whether it's hanging pictures, setting up shelves or any other task you would normally use a standard spirit level for, it's great and better than a standard spirit level in many ways. First, you don't need someone to draw the line as long as you keep the spirit level in place. Also, most home levels are rarely longer than 3 feet or so, maybe 5 feet, while this allows you to draw a continuous line the full length of almost any surface you want. It creates horizontal and vertical lines at the same time, ideal for laying tiles and masonry, for example. For the price it couldn't be better. Self-leveling and confirming that it's even makes it incredibly easy to use. A tripod would be very helpful, but without it you can easily improvise with ladders, shelves etc. You'll be surprised at how cheap a tripod can be bought here at Revain. If you plan on using this a lot, I highly recommend you do so.
