I roast in the sun, especially on long bike rides, and sunscreen is unreliable due to the sweat factor. I wanted something that would protect my upper body from the sun but not be heavy and tight. This shrug exceeded all my expectations! I don't use sunscreen and I don't even wear makeup. Being able to go on long drives under the sun without worrying about burns is a game changer. The fabric is very light and breathable so I don't feel overheated with the extra layer. And protecting my hands from the sun will likely help keep me cool in the long run. First I ordered a small one and it fit me very well. Normally I'd prefer that, but you don't want to stretch the UPF fabric as it can lose some of its sun protection. I returned it for a medium size and it fits great with a little lag. I recommend ordering one size larger than originally worn.
