The seams of the original line came loose after about a week. However, the replacement was easy and the new one works well. The sutures came loose after 2 months, but not nearly as much as the first derivative. **Edit** After 4 months the replacement was completely sold out. That's very disappointing. I find it difficult to keep traditional leashes for long periods of time so finding better substitutes is frustrating. I do NOT recommend this strap. Even for just $20, it lasts longer. Now that the puppy is an adult, it can easily be used as a shoulder leash. It would be difficult to use this method on a much smaller dog or a larger person (dog about 21" at the shoulders, mine about 5ft 8"). Overall a great option if you need both hands and your dog is going for a walk. good on a free leash. I wouldn't recommend it as a crossbody if your dog pulls a lot, but it's a general purpose leash so it can be used as a traditional leash as well. Conversely, I wouldn't use the "around the waist" option unless the dog is pulling. The floating ring is very loose and the leash will slip easily.
