If you are looking for the perfect compact camera for your teenager, this is a great choice. (Great for adults too!) It fits perfectly into an active, portable lifestyle - it's light, comfortable, tech and stylish. Smooth. It looks a lot like an iTouch phone or iPod iTouch with its square shape and smooth surface where you launch your menu and edit it with the touch of your finger (or the included stylus). My teenage daughter loves it and rates it 'excellent'. It suits their tech lifestyle. The photos on the ice rink in low light also deserve respect. There are many cool features to prepare and edit your photos. These include smile detection, smile enhancement (although the camera can actually stretch the sides of the mouth, odd as that may sound), red-eye removal. There are also artistic features like center point selection and border framing in monochrome, a starburst feature that makes photos more bold, an edge blur feature, and the ability to write captions. It comes with a rechargeable battery, a charger and a built-in memory card that can take thousands of pictures. I recommend buying an external memory card if you plan to take photos for printing at your local store. The only uncomfortable feature my daughter had was the flash. She said it was counterintuitive and that the manual didn't help her program. She ended up asking a friend (who had this camera for a long time) to help her program the flash and she had no problems. My daughter is usually tech savvy so this is especially important. Thanks to a reviewer on this site, I ordered a military-grade invisible shield to protect her screen. Highly recommend - teenagers are not good with electronics. Eventually she asked for it in grey, which surprised me. I thought she'd want one of the bright colors, but she pointed out that bright colors attract sticky fingers, even in public places. Muted colors attract less attention. The price keeps falling. I bought it for $399 a few weeks ago and the price has dropped by half. Thanks to Revane for refunding the discount when I wrote to them.
