The insert I received is warped. Holding the ruler on the long axis causes the plate to flex almost 2mm in the middle, making alignment difficult and greatly reducing the effectiveness of the zero-distance feature. I may have had bad luck with this plate, but for such an expensive item I expect better. The plate is designed decently, allowing the blade to pass through either side of the plate, which probably means the plate can be used on many different saws. The plate is equipped with side and front tension screws that hold the plate securely when the plate is curved from the opposite side and back. This mechanism works quite well.
