It pretty much met all my expectations but I will add.

This pretty much met my expectations, but I would like to add that the foam is not as stiff as I was hoping. I bought this case to safely transport my drum machine and accessories. I was very careful in planning where things would go. For example, while one "hole" goes through all three layers of foam, another may only be one layer deep. It has allowed me to find something that is stored exclusively in the bottom layer (the middle layer of pnp foam that is just above it is intact, and then there is something in the top layer that I drag onto the pnp foam). This allowed me to fit whatever I wanted into the case, and I made sure to leave enough foam between the holes (like the ribs) to keep the layers of foam stable. I ran into a small problem: when I turned the case upside down, the weight of the heaviest object (the drum machine itself) caused the foam to compress a bit, so when the case was opened the foam compressed (like a sponge) . and didn't fit very well. That compression wasn't too bad, and I don't think that it would compromise the protection of the mechanism. However, I strongly recommend that when planning how to fit things in a large suitcase like this, you have heavier items placed closer to the suitcase's folding edge (the edge you will be laying on the floor). ). That way, when the case is on the floor, the heaviest objects aren't at the top of the case, where they put more pressure on the foam underneath. If the foam had a stiffer consistency (would be less spongy) this might not be an issue. I'm not sure if the Pelican foam is a bit stiffer. But I understand that the foam needs to be made to achieve balance. It should be stiff enough to hold its shape under weight, but soft enough that your watch can be pressed into the right places without it moving. that you place heavier items closer to the folding edge of the suitcase (the edge you will be laying on the floor).
