Excellent but not 100% sure

The toy itself is cool. I have a 16 year old Senegal parrot and he LOVES making a bat out of it. The only problem is that after about 8 months of playing my little one decided he wanted to destroy the bells. No problem, what parrot doesn't love destruction? Well, I watched his plans progress and noticed the paint was peeling off the bells. Everywhere he chewed was missing color and large flakes of color fell off (I only say "color" because I have no idea what it was made of). After taking the toy away from a very angry little bird, I removed all the bells and threw them straight into the bin. It only bothers me when pet toy companies sell things that might hurt someone's pet.
