Review on ProAid Hanging Organizer Storage Folders by Ivrington Miller

Inexpensive but functional

This is a simple wire mesh desktop organizer for holding a small amount of files with a built in drawer for various items. It looks good from afar, but up close you can see how cheap it is. All parts of the structure are quite thin and bend easily. There are some blemishes that catch the eye up close. The paint was badly chipped in several corners, the welds were sloppy and the flanges where the bolts were attached seemed a bit rusty on the inside. Assembly was easy enough, just four screws really and a slight bend to make everything fit together. The box was slightly warped but it was easy enough to straighten it out. During assembly, the screws were not easy to screw in and were very tight. There could have been rust on the threads or maybe the threads didn't match, I don't know, but I didn't want to risk stripping the threads so I screwed the screws in very carefully. Three of them were easy to dress up but one seemed questionable and I didn't want to over tighten it and break the threads so I left it as is. I've found it works for some but not all dangling folders. I had a couple of Container Store and Pendaflex 9" binders that worked great, but I had other 10" Pendaflex binders that didn't fit this filter. You should measure before buying new ones. Overall I think this is a cheap desktop filter that would be nice if it was $20 but at $35 it's a bit pricey given the quality. You might want to do some shopping before settling on this one.
