Works well in some situations, but not all.
I use this at home on a .75 inch thick pull out shelf to conveniently keep my bag on my desk and off the floor. Moving the base or removing the bag. It works this way up to a table thickness of approximately 1.25 inches (assuming a flat edge with no beveled edge). With a thickness of 1.25" to 2.75", it gets a little risky as the vertical bar can't hang straight and the padded elbow can't hit. Surfaces with a beveled edge more than 0.25 inches from the edge will not work. Overall, it's very flexible and works great in a variety of situations.
