Update below HOLY MOLY! Another reviewer mentioned the gassing and god they weren't exaggerating! As soon as I opened the package I smelled terribly of chemicals. It's been a few days since I've been outside and the smell has barely faded. I bought this to use with a diaper bag so I wouldn't use it with my toddler in tow. I mean, it smells like a new car, only ten times stronger. Either way, the pads are nice and soft, the velcro is strong and makes it easy to get on and off, and the long length makes it a great choice for wearers who need some support. If it weren't for the unpleasant smell, I would have given it a higher rating. Two stars were deducted because the room had to be constantly aired. Update 2-1/2 months after purchase: Well, a little over a month after opening the box, the smell finally went away. I'm totally serious - it took so long and I even threw them in the laundry to speed up the process. Once the smell had dissipated I got a chance to try it on a diaper bag. Unfortunately it is too big, bulky and long for my diaper bag. It looks weird and changes the way the straps sit on my shoulders. Too bad. I can try them on a seat belt or give them to someone. I raised my rating from 3 stars to 2 not because it didn't fit in my bag (it's not the product's fault, it didn't fit me) but because the smell has faded FOREVER. One wonders what chemicals are being used in products when something like this happens.
