I recently bought a long adapter for my Macbook Pro. I've found that if it shakes at all, it could be unsafely shutting down my card or external drive. I bought this smaller one and found that it wobbles a lot less and doesn't cause my devices to turn off easily. I use it to download photo maps and access my USB drives. So far I haven't had any problems with this item. He does his job :)
