My daughter wears a size 8.5 to 9 so I ordered a normal size 9.5. They fit well but are a bit loose on the left and right fingers. Her legs tend to be a bit narrow, but pulling the string helped a little. Sizing can always be a daunting task when shopping for shoes, especially when buying shoes online (where you can't try them on). We previously ordered a regular size 9 (same style of shoe) and returned it because it felt too narrow in length.
