It's not flash but USB-C speed is more than enough as a backup for me, especially when I have several useless 2TB NVMe sticks lying around . The active cooling makes me feel like the drives won't cook on their own compared to the other two products I've tried. If you don't need blazing fast internal storage like speed and you have nvme hard drives with enough capacity to back up your hard drive several times a week, then this product is for you. We've been using it for > a month and have no complaints. I will unsubscribe in an update if something changes catastrophically. Overall a good investment, especially given the active cooling.
