I bought this heater to prepare for the Chicago winter (which, if you don't know, is absolutely brutal). I wanted a second heater to stay in my office so I could put another heater in our bedroom or living room. My office is in the basement, so it's always cold in the office, even if it's nice outside. It was the perfect place to test the heater. This heater does the job. As soon as I turned it on, I felt the office warm up. In fact, it heated up the room so quickly that I had to turn the heater to the Lo setting. The heater has Hi, Lo and Eco settings. These settings control the amount of heat. You can also adjust the temperature. It goes up to 95 degrees. This 95 feels pretty hot. Temperature control also controls the amount of heat. With the lowest temperature and the Eco setting, you still get quite a bit of heat. In fact, as you take it apart, this heater gets hotter and hotter. No matter what temperature you have, the device is very quiet for a heater. I've had devices with noisy fans, but not this one. A generator and a remote control are beneficial. The vibrations really help spread the heat around the room and the remote control allows me to keep the heater on across the room from my desk. With the remote you can turn the unit on and off, change the heating mode, temperature, swing, and even set a timer for how long you want it to run. Each command from the remote control causes the device to beep, which confirms that the device has received a command from the remote control. However, if you're unsure, the device has a nice bright LCD that lets you see the settings from a long distance. The device makes a good impression. The plastic is matte black apart from the LED and buttons which have a glossy look. The heating element occupies only half of the front grille. But don't be fooled by the fact that it reduced performance. As I mentioned earlier, it generates a lot of heat. For safety reasons, this unit has a tip-over shut-off mechanism and a 15-20 second cool down period after a power failure to help cool down the heating element. for security. It's very light and has a handle on the back for easy carrying when you want to move it to a new room. Overall I really like this heater. It puts out a lot of the heat I need in the winter and has a number of features that make it more than just a regular heater.
