I needed to replace a similar item that had worn out (inside) in 2 years. Not particularly difficult to put on - after going out it lies in a hot car for a couple of days. It's not too thick, just thick enough and comfortable. Looks good too. They all have vinyl/rubber inside (for traction and friction with the main surface of the steering wheel) that becomes brittle over time and cracks from heat. My old one started to slip (and loosen) as the rubber inside slowly crumbled into powder. Once you took the old one off, this powder turned into a mess to clean the real steering wheel's leather underneath. This is a dangerous condition that can lead to accidents. This new one doesn't slip at all. I would recommend changing them every year/year and a half to avoid slippage due to the inevitable wear and tear of the 'tread' in these steering wheel covers.
