I don't know how Brother and other printer manufacturers manage to withhold cheaper replacement ink cartridges from consumers. I tried several replacements but the printer didn't accept them. They appear as empty or not inserted at all. I could just throw that stupid printer out the window, it's so frustrating. However, I persevered and found her. They worked for the first time in my Brother MFC-J6920DW. My brother recently emailed me notifying me of a firmware update. I won't install it for fear it will kill those cartridges! Brother and others simply overcharge for replacement ink. If their prices were reasonable, there would be no secondary market. They're just too greedy. I can't promise they will work on your Brother printer but I've had great experiences.
