I wanted to grow my own probiotic (mutaflor) and needed a temperature programmable yoghurt maker so I could choose the exact fermentation temperature. Devices with this feature are rare and out of my price range. As long as the device works properly. I checked the temperature with an accurate thermometer and it was accurate. I'm giving 4 stars because it doesn't have an on/off switch, the buttons aren't intuitive, and the lamination on the buttons peeled off easily due to my nails. Confusingly, the Start/Cancel button is also a time selection button. Be sure to press the Start/Cancel button again after using it to select the time, otherwise the unit will not heat up. If both buttons are red, the device is running. If the Start/Cancel button is green, the device has not yet started. I learned this the hard way after waking up the next day to find my milk wasn't fermented.
