Great for removing post-op swelling

About 2 months ago I had surgery to repair a spiral fracture of the tibia and a fracture of the fibula with metal plates and screws on my left tibia. In the hospital I had put on open toe compression stockings on my left lower leg which, to be honest, didn't hold the swelling well and were even less effective after washing. I bought these compression stockings hoping to reduce the post-op swelling and pain I was having. I have venous insufficiency in both legs due to varicose veins so the fact that it was a pair of compression stockings was a bonus. They have reduced the post op swelling on my left foot very well, stay awake with 24/7 use, are very comfortable and not that difficult to put on. I ordered the correct size according to the chart provided for women's 10 and 14" calf shoes and the socks fit perfectly. I'm 5'6" and they come just below the knee as shown in the picture. I will order a few more because I really like them. They did not significantly reduce postoperative pain as it clearly originated from the bones and not from postoperative swelling. However, I am very pleased with the excellent reduction in swelling. Since it takes 4-6 months for bones to heal after a major fracture like mine and the metal plates and screws are firmly attached to the bones, I will be wearing these compression stockings for several months. Thanks for a great product. I'm very glad I chose these particular compression stockings over all the others I've looked at and since it's a thicker, higher quality compression material you don't have to worry about your nails going through them and the socks ruin. Highly recommended!
