Works very well, looks beautiful!
I've read a few other bad reviews about similar hourglasses. Complaints were mostly that the sand stuck to the sides or blocked a small hole. Basically, the hourglass didn't work well. None of these apply to what I received. Draining takes 29 minutes and 48 seconds. Not exactly 30:00 but I won't complain about 12 seconds. The brasswork is very well done and the wooden base is well finished. I bought it for my wife to find time for piano lessons. She loves it.
