I'm SO glad I ordered these a few months ago for another winter in Syracuse. I adopted the dog in June and we walk a lot. Yesterday I just put on my snowshoes (well, I was also wearing clothes) and slipped on the ice, which was under a thin layer of snow, and did a not-too-elegant hip landing. The good news was that only a distant runner (and my dog) saw it - oh, and I didn't break anything. Today I used my cats for the first time and what a difference! I felt absolutely safe. You can literally feel the cats digging in the snow and ice. I also like that you can see them just by looking at the boots. A few years ago they only fit on the bottom of the sole and I lost one of them twice on a walk but I didn't know until I got home. I'm working on getting them tight as I can hear the metal chime as I walk and feels like a traveling bell but not very melodic.
