The Roomba that comes with this battery now sat on a pantry shelf for years so the original battery couldn't hold enough charge to light the LED. NiCds had its day and I'm very glad that day is over. Installation took less than 15 minutes and I spent most of my time cleaning the brush - since the unit was lying open on my lap I figured that would be a good time. After all, after a full charge, the old bot will come in handy again. Notice my headline - Roomba behaves like it's new and not like a new Vacuum-O-Matic. I have one too, and it's better in every way: noise, speed, intelligence, ability to clean. But that's no hit to the battery - the technology has just come a very long way. For what it's worth, I have plenty of Tenergy AA rechargeable batteries that work really well too. Definitely better than other inexpensive (read: not Enerloop) items. So it fits the same pattern. I can't comment on the durability of this battery but judging by the AA rating it will last a long time. If you have an old Roomba taking up closet space and want to get it running again, it's the battery. To you.
