These shoes are beautiful and shiny. There is a small wedge, but nothing critical. My 5 year old loves them. Equally important, the material is very soft and pleasant to the touch (haven't tried it for long so can't comment on that yet). I have a sizing tip - use the size chart in the photos to measure your child's foot before ordering! I made the mistake of relying on my child's normal shoe size, which meant they were about 1.5 to 2 sizes smaller. It was only after a few returns (fortunately free) that I realized their sizes deviated from standard US sizing. After relying on their measurements, the shoes fit me perfectly.
