I am a cook. I use my knives for all slicing, dicing and slicing functions in the kitchen. My wife, on the other hand, dreamed of a mandolin for years, but never bought one. I ended up convincing her to buy one and she quickly ordered one which she returned, ordered a second of these and finally settled on the most expensive in class. This contraption now takes up counter space, looks a bit run down and is rarely used. I'm sure someone can successfully use this thing without having to fight through veggies. Tomatoes mash, slices vary in thickness, forget about cubes and most of what you process stays in the "cup". Now she's too embarrassed to send the third one back to Revane and the return period has already passed. And here it sits. It doesn't help that I tease her about the new "dust bag" on our counter.
