Review on 💧 Enhanced Water Purification with BLUONICS Purifier Sediment Filters by Thao Valdivieso

I bought this unit to filter the water going into a drip irrigation system for my garden. At first glance this is an attractive combination box, but once you start assembling you realize that it uses an unusual design to hold the filters. The system uses a flat gasket to seal the filter housings to the top manifold with a lock nut (this is the large blue groove on the top of each housing). Insert the filter into the housing, then bring the housing to the manifold with the washer and then tighten the rear lock nut (do not turn the filter housing). Having had issues with the screw-on type in the past where they were difficult to remove or the o-ring would stick (needed to be lubricated each time) when reinstalled, this seemed like a new idea. The only problem is that either the filters that come with it are defective or the dimensions of the case don't match the size of the stock filter. The included activated carbon filter did not seal between the manifold and the bottom of the filter housing. I had to use a spare flat rubber washer from a discarded filter to take up the play (otherwise the filter just dangled in the housing). When I saw such a design issue or defect in a product, I lost confidence that it would be a reliable device. I will be using it short term and will keep an eye on any leaks or other issues until I find a replacement. I give three stars because everything works with the added gasket.
