
The posts appear to be good value for money but the domed part that distributes the load across the lid seems to have been designed for a different diameter post. It doesn't stick to the pole at all. If you stowed your boat in the door, you could balance the coupler piece on top of the pole, but there would be nothing to hold it together, so there's no way this assembly could hold together in the real world. Maybe they accidentally sold all the pillars that came with these domes separately, thinking that this was the way they were trying to get rid of them? I'm not sure why Amazon would support this suggestion.
