Thing is, it was pretty solid when you first picked it up, so it was a surprise even the first time. I then read some reviews that it wouldn't work well in iced drinks, so I opened a very cold can of soda to see how long it would last. Well it took me about 30-40 minutes to eat and finish the jar and the straw is holding up pretty well with no issues! I mean, of course the part that was soaked in the jar is less durable than before, but it held its shape until I squeezed it to see how wet it got. temperature) and the other in zero cola with ice! After an hour or so they certainly get a little soggy to the touch, but still not that bad and I can't tell just by looking at them. The bottom line is these straws are way stronger than I ever imagined! I am very happy with these straws and now the convenience of using a disposable straw is back!
