Review on Premium Aluminum-Silver 45 RPM Adapter for 7 inch Vinyl Records, Technics Turntables by Austin Arvayo

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good turntable with lots of features and good sound quality

DigitNow turntable I've been a consumer electronics engineer for over 30 years so have experience with audio equipment. No, it's not a high-end Technics turntable, but it doesn't cost as much as a high-end unit. However, that doesn't mean it's not a great little player. As long as you don't expect $1,000 sound quality, you'll be fine with it. It has built-in speakers (and therefore a built-in amp) and they sound pretty good for what they are, but for a truly immersive experience you'll need to hook it up to an external amp. It uses a magnetic cartridge so no preamp is required. Not me' I didn't find any of the thrills associated with cheaper models and the speed sounded right. I used a stroboscopic test drive to verify this and indeed the speed was perfect at all three speed settings. Yes I said THREE speed settings - 45, 33-1/2 and 78! 78rpm isn't what most people need these days, but then again, it's not something you see every day. That's a nice addition. A detachable adapter is included for singles with a speed of 45 rpm. Bluetooth connects easily with the same sound quality as the player itself. I think this is useful for those who want to use the player as the main audio component. For me, however, this feature kills the nostalgia for old-fashioned vinyl. Millennials will love it :) Speaking of vintage and modern. The addition of a direct digital output is something even I can appreciate! A CD is included with a copy of the audio editing software Audacity, but I didn't bother to check it out. I use Linux so I already installed the Linux version of this program as well as a few others. The software itself can take some getting used to when you first start using it, but there are plenty of online tutorials to help you. The body is most likely made of pressed cardboard or chipboard, but covered in beautiful wood. grain pattern. At first glance, you probably won't notice but if you actually look at it, you can see that the "grains" go in different directions at the top, not on the sides. Never mind, and many inexpensive devices have always used a wood grain finish since the 80's. Just something to be aware of if these things are important to you. What may seem like a minor feature to some is sorely lacking on many cheaper turntables - this turntable's dust cover can be closed while playing standard 33.-1/2 RPM records! This is an important feature in the care and maintenance of your record collection. Take it from an old pro. You can't go wrong with this player.
