Great tool if you can't see the needle and also great for inserting the needle into the needle bar.

This cheap little tool saves lives. I can't see well up close, so trying to thread a needle in my old typewriter was a crazy experience. I bought this and boy did it help. It takes a little time to understand how it works, but once you get the hang of it, you'll love it. I've since switched to a machine with an automatic needle threader (thank goodness!) so the little kid is still being used to change needles. It's shaped like a needle, so if you put it under the needle bar you'll know it's pointing in the right direction, then lift it up the stem and tighten. Very easy!

Found it difficult to use, and not particularly effective. Perhaps I'm too clumsy.
