Excellent high performance machine; Able to work with different fabrics

The Janome HD3000 has been repeatedly mentioned on the internet as an excellent mechanical sewing machine. I researched this option carefully before purchasing, especially as it initially cost more than I was willing to pay for my new sewing machine. You can call me an experienced seamstress and I have sewn everything from clothes (knitted and woven) to heavy bags, curtains and even a mattress. I really wanted something that could handle my intense ideas! Pros: - Quiet. This is the quietest sewing machine I've ever used and it doesn't vibrate on my desk. I can hear other things (besides just the car) and even music. I consider that a great advantage. My husband used to not let me sew in the same room with him. It shouldn't bother him at all. - Leg rises very high (but won't hold this position without your help) - Automatic needle threader - Heavy duty. This machine worked with two pieces of cotton wool and one piece of thick fleece. No complaints from the car or from me. This machine is listed as a heavy duty machine and meets this requirement. Many general purpose items are said to be compatible with this machine such as: B. Schmetz multipurpose needles, size 15 bobbins (plastic only) and some useful sewing supplies. machine legs. As always, be careful when testing each item or ask Janome. I read online to stay away from metal coils on this machine. - Excellent multipurpose machine. Today I tested this machine on everything from silk fabrics to lightweight knits, wovens, fleece and batting. I even made a button and boutonniere with it. I wanted a home machine that could handle all the crazy things I try (plus heavy projects) and this machine is just what I needed. There may not be as many stitches available compared to some machines, but unless you're making a lot of nice edging, you don't need to have more than this machine offers. This machine can sew all standard stitches (single, zigzag) as well as stretch stitches. However, it has a few decorative stitching. Sometimes I might use a floral or leafy design, but so rarely that it's not worth thinking about the rest of the car. The extra legs that come with it are fantastic. The hem and the bow take a little getting used to. Additional coils included. Price. Despite paying more than I initially wanted, I quickly realized that I needed a car with good mechanics and design to do what I wanted. For what you get, this machine gives you a lot for your money. It will not use and throw away the machine. - For me the mechanical part was an advantage - I've seen enough items that just wear out on the screen/power and render the rest of the device unusable. I wish I could build a new sewing machine out of coconuts. Maybe I'll try this project next time. The metal frame, the entire device and the included items look high quality. (and luckily they aren't made from coconuts) - there are many more dials to set up on this machine to get the best result. This is compared to all the old "regular" home sewing machines I've used. If you drop the racks, you may find that they no longer stand. The manual seems to imply that a simple switch will cause the racks to go down and then up. I ran into this problem when I started running everything it could do on my new computer. I got confused when the switch didn't raise the feed comb. A lot of people have complained about this issue and one person mentioned that all you have to do is flip the switch to the feed comb raise position and then turn the hand wheel. Voila, they reappear. This appears to be an accidental omission in the instructions. Short pedal cable. I was very concerned about this at first, but found a way to thread it at my desk for convenience. I'm a bit taller so this can be a very annoying issue for those working at a larger desk. The power cord can also be a bit short, but that didn't bother me that much. There are many more watch faces to customize. This can also be a problem if you don't want to deal with everything. However, I didn't find the watch faces "too big". When I read the instructions, it turned out that everything was quite simple. And you don't have to use some dials for easy sewing anyway. There is no speed control. I was hoping it might have this feature, but it doesn't. This is a kind of "bells and whistles" that I wish I had. All in all, if you do enough quilting, heavy sewing, and more everyday sewing, this is a fantastic machine. I am very happy with it so far and think it will be a long lasting machine.
