I looked at a ton of water mats on Ebay and picked this one because it was a large size for a reasonable price. I didn't realize that it also came with a bunch of accessories like stamps and stencils, so that was a fun surprise. The mat is super easy and compact to store and then to roll out when you want to use it. My 2.5 year old liked it at first and LOVES it now that he's closer to 2 3/4. He does like to fling water droplets at it like a Jackson Pollock painting. I also like that the mat has the alphabet in large font around the edges - my son isn't quite old enough to trace the letters yet but I think this will be awesome practice when he is, he'll be able to practice writing each letter over and over again.
