Bought this for a party and it looked great. We have grilled steaks and chicken and they were heavy enough to support the steaks and the utensils were perfect. The knife cut straight through our New York strip steak. I would buy them again for a party I don't want to use my glasses for. It's cheap enough that you can throw it away. I have hand washed some of these plates and they have washed up well. I wouldn't classify the dishes as dishwasher-safe because some of them went into the dishwasher and became clear and no longer silvery. A spoon has melted. I don't mind washing dishes by hand so this is perfect.
