Yesterday I received and installed this mount. I wanted to be able to mount the TV in front of the treadmill, rotate it so the screen could be seen from the adjacent workout area (for online fitness/yoga classes, etc.), and then elevate it to the ceiling . when not in use as it is in the aisle when lowered for viewing. This mount seemed perfect. And that's almost it. Even before I received it, I was wondering how much I could trust the latch. Well I installed it in the basement so it's tight and even 2x4 between the joists. It looked sketchy when locked, but I left it that way. Maybe an hour later we were already sitting on the sofa upstairs (sitting motionless - nobody walked and shook the house) and we heard a very loud knock. It was the sound of a television breaking loose and turning itself off. I was a bit disappointed but not surprised. I just won't be storing the TV until I add a strap to make sure it doesn't fall. The rest seems well built and secure, and it still saved me a few hours designing a swivel and swivel TV mount that I would buy again. I would even pay a few bucks extra for a lock you can trust.
