The opening of the bag closes with 1" velcro. I don't like it! At least zip it like a front pocket to close the bag and roll then open them. I get the roll method, but not sealed with water. The front pocket is not waterproof, there are water-resistant zipper flaps and a thin line. The bag must not be submerged, it absorbs water. It's like with a boat or Canoe in bad water: if for some reason it goes over the side and hits the bottom it will fill up with water.This bag is only for walking in the rain.In heavy rain I doubt the front pocket.
