Review on 🏠 LetSport Upgraded 68oz Dehumidifier: Powerful, Portable, and Ultra Quiet for Home Use - Ideal for Basements, Bathrooms, Bedrooms, and RVs by Kimberly Lee

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Used technology can't handle humid air exchange

I ran it in a 12x12 room (half its max capacity) for a couple of days and it barely filled a 68 ounce tank three quarters full. (I think 48 ounces can be extracted). I hooked up a refurbished Black and Decker model alongside it and within a day it filled its own tank (128 ounces) and even more after it was emptied. Both were priced exactly the same, but note that the factory refurbished B&D unit has been significantly downsized. The main difference between the two is that this device uses a Peltier thermoelectric heat exchanger, which is notoriously bad for all the big functions (the small ones). Countertop fridges that can hold 4 sodas use the same technology and only work at room temperature). The B&D unit uses refrigerant and a small compressor like any standard air conditioner. While this block extracts some water from the air, it makes no difference in rooms where you need to extract enough water. Moisture comes out in a reasonable amount of time (barely 50 ounces in a couple of days compared to 128+ ounces in a day from a better device). Compare your pricing, requirements, and technology you use to decide which one is best for you. My room has frequent exchanges with outside air (outside door) so this unit might be suitable for those who need to maintain an indoor space where frequent moisture ingress is not a problem. it just won't work for me.
