Save money and buy a quality USB-C to HDMI cable instead of this adapter. I tried this adapter on my new Acer Chromebook Spin 13 with different HDMI 1.3 and High Speed HDMI cables. Worked well with an old HP Pavilion 23xi monitor (September 2013) and a newer Dell UltraSharp U2717D monitor (October 2017), but not with my 48" Sharp TV (March 2015). The video signal was never synced to the TV, so the display was an example of color noise. Then I bought a USB-C to HDMI cable from Anker and it worked great, even with the same HDMI cables (via a switch).
