These pants were bought for a fun weekend hideaway and short winter hikes. The material of these pants is similar to technical sports fleece - it's smooth and stretchy on the outside and soft on the inside, like sweatpants. They are warm and comfortable to wear in cold weather. The material absorbs almost no water like normal fleece, but the water drips a little onto the surface. The pants keep the wind out pretty well, so I'd say they're windproof. Fits very well for my height and weight. They come with a very cheap strap that looks like a strap that I would throw away and replace with a real strap. I appreciate the zip pockets that keep my wallet safe on the road.
